The preliminary technical application comment period for RFA #2019-020 has officially closed. From now until December 20th, submitters should consider the feedback and other comments posted to the platform to finalize their application. During this finalization phase, applicants will also develop a detailed budget and budget narrative to upload to the platform. The budgets are confidential and will not be for public view on the platform. The final due date for the finalized application, budget, and budget narrative is December 20th, 2019.
A few general comments for everyone as you finalize your applications:
- Several applicants seek to use the RFA to initiate, expand or extend program implementation. However, the purpose of this opportunity is focused on research activities. This funding is not intended to support ongoing or new programming. Please review the criteria and ensure your application appropriately responds to the RFA.
- Ensure applications incorporate/demonstrate best practices for implementation research.
- Please review the learning goals of the RFA when making final revisions. Please be able to articulate how the country-level research and learning generated from this activity could inform future health systems and DFS programming.
- Please review budgets and timelines to be sure they are feasible and realistic in order to accomplish RFA goals.
As you revise your applications, please also finalize the budget and budget narrative, which are required as part of this application. Links for the template for the detailed budget and budget narrative are available in the RFA (Section 6. Full Application Requirements – Cost). To reiterate, the budget and budget narrative will not be shared publicly on the platform. Please ensure you upload your final technical application, budget, and budget narrative in the appropriate fields on the OAP platform (see screenshot below).
A final reminder, additional required attachments include the following (as specified in Section 7. Additional Required Attachments):
- Resumes and letters of commitment for all proposed key personnel. A complete and current resume must be submitted for each key personnel position, detailing the requisite qualifications and experience of the individual. Qualifications, experience, and skills shall be placed in chronological order starting with most recent information.
- Past performance information sheets (there is no required template, however the information typically requested by USAID may be found here for reference). You are also welcome to submit sheets for current projects.
